About Me

Mehmet GUMUSTAS was obtained his PhD from Ankara University Faculty of Pharmacy Department of Analytical Chemistry under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Sibel A. Ozkan and Prof. Dr. Bezhan Chankvetadze and He is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Forensic Toxicology at the Institute of Forensic Sciences in University of Ankara, Turkey . His fields of expertise are covered separation sciences including High Performance Liquid Chromatography, Capillary Electrophoresis and Supercritical Fluid Chromatography applied to pharmaceutical analysis, for the discovery and development of chiral and achiral drugs and their metabolites from different matrices. He has published over 50 peer reviewed publications and 5 chapters in various books from Elsevier.  He has been presented more than 90 posters and 8 oral presentations. He has also been awarded 5 times for the best poster presentation at national and international conferences. He has been involved in 1 research projects as manager and 9 projects as researcher. He is the member of Science Academy of Turkey (Young Scientist Membership) and fellow of AOAC International and attend the AOAC meetings as Panel member on Strategic Food Analytical Methods. He is involved in the organization of conferences in Turkey related with Pharmaceutical Sciences and Analytical Chemistry and one of them, Euroanalysis XX, will be held on Istanbul in 2019. He is reviewer for scientific projects and many international well-known journals such as, Journal of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Analysis, Talanta, Scientific Reports, Journal of AOAC International, Electrophoresis, etc. He is married with Aysen Gumustas and has a 3-month baby boy named Alp-Ali.
